Chapter 10 - A New Dawn

One year later, the sun shone brightly over my grandmother's estate.
I stood on the massive wrap-around porch, breathing in the scent of blooming jasmine.
I was fully healed, both physically and emotionally.
My new company, a foundation dedicated to helping victims of domestic abuse and financial fraud, was thriving.
I heard the crunch of gravel as a black SUV pulled into the driveway.
Arthur stepped out of the driver's seat, looking sharp in his new custom suit.
I had hired him as the Head of Corporate Security for my foundation, doubling his old salary.
Right behind him, Clara hopped out of the passenger seat holding a thick textbook.
With my financial backing, she was in her final semester of medical school to become a doctor.
“Are you ready for the board meeting, boss?” Arthur called out with a warm smile.
“I am always ready, Arthur,” I laughed, walking down the steps to greet them.
My life was no longer filled with toxic lies and dangerous secrets.
I had surrounded myself with people of genuine courage and unshakable loyalty.
Marcus and Evelyn were rotting in concrete cells, forgotten by the elite society they loved so much.
They tried to push me down into the darkness.
May you like
But they forgot one crucial detail.
When you push a strong woman into the dark, she simply learns how to shine brighter.
