Chapter 6 - The Unholy Alliance
Samantha knew the legal walls were closing in on her.
Her lawyer informed her about the audio recording from the hallway.
She needed a trump card to force David to drop the charges and give her the money.
She found her answer in Rachel, David’s bitter, estranged ex-wife and the biological mother of the kids.
Rachel had lost custody years ago due to severe addiction issues, but she still hated David.
Samantha tracked Rachel down to a rundown apartment across town.
“I can help you get your kids back, and get a huge piece of David’s fortune,” Samantha pitched.
Rachel, desperate for cash, eagerly listened to the plan.
They agreed to stage an interview with a trashy tabloid magazine.
Rachel would claim David stole the kids and paid off judges.
Samantha would corroborate the story, painting David as a monster.
They planned to extort two million dollars from David in exchange for their silence.
They thought they were being brilliant and stealthy.
They didn't know Miller the PI was taking photographs of them through the diner window.
