Chapter 3 - The Smear Campaign

The next morning, David woke up to his phone vibrating uncontrollably.

He had dozens of missed calls and messages from mutual friends and business partners.

Frowning, he opened Facebook and saw a long, tearful post written by Samantha.

She had posted a picture of herself crying, claiming she had fled an abusive relationship.

She accused David of being a raging alcoholic who terrorized her and the children.

She even claimed she was trying to protect the kids from him.

The post already had thousands of likes and hundreds of angry comments directed at David.

“That manipulative liar,” David muttered to himself.

His lawyer, Marcus, called him a minute later.

“David, tell me you are seeing this nonsense online,” Marcus said.

“I’m seeing it, Marcus, and it’s a complete fabrication,” David replied.

“She was beating my kids, I caught her in the act, and I kicked her out.”

“We need to file a restraining order immediately and prepare a defamation suit,” Marcus advised.

“Do it,” David ordered.

“Spare no expense.”

Meanwhile, Samantha was sitting in a luxury hotel room, sipping champagne.

She smiled as she watched her phone blow up with notifications of support.

She knew David had a massive public profile due to his real estate empire.
