Chapter 18 - The Wedding in the Park

Six months later, the Conservatory Garden in Central Park was transformed into a private paradise of white roses, hanging lanterns, and string music.

The wedding was an intimate affair, attended only by close friends, senior executives, and Eleanor Vance, who sat smiling warmly in the front row.

Lucas, looking completely healthy and handsome in a tailored black tuxedo, walked his sister down the stone pathway toward the altar.

Clara wore a custom silk organza gown with a sweetheart neckline and a delicate lace train that swept gracefully across the garden stones.

She wore no heavy jewelry other than her engagement ring and a simple diamond pendant Gabriel had given her as a morning wedding gift.

As they reached the altar, Lucas turned to Gabriel, placing Clara’s hand into the large, waiting palm of the billionaire investor.

“Take good care of her, Gabriel,” Lucas said firmly, his eyes bright with tears of gratitude and genuine affection for his brother-in-law.

“With my life, Lucas,” Gabriel promised solemnity, his dark eyes never leaving Clara’s glowing, beautiful face as she stepped beside him.

The vows they exchanged were written by themselves, speaking of second chances, unexpected blessings, and a love that grew from the darkest moments of their lives.

When the officiant finally pronounced them husband and wife, Gabriel pulled Clara into his arms with possessive pride, kissing her until the garden erupted in cheers.

At the reception beneath the glass pavilion, reporters stood outside the iron gates, snapping photos of the Midas of Wall Street dancing with his bride.

There was no deception in their smiles, no PR strategy behind the way Gabriel held her close against his heart as they swayed to the music.

“You look happy, Mrs. Thorne,” Gabriel murmured against her ear, his hand stroking the small of her back with gentle rhythm.

“I am exactly where I belong, Mr. Thorne,” Clara whispered back, resting her head on his shoulder as they danced into the evening.
