Chapter 5 - The Desperate Strike

Rachel wasn't going to go down without a dirty fight.
On a rainy Tuesday, I received an alert that three of my new transport trucks had been delayed at the loading docks.
I drove down to the commercial shipping yard to see what was causing the bottleneck.
I found Rachel standing in the rain, flanked by two burly security guards from Sterling Logistics.
She was actively trying to block my drivers from loading their cargo.
“These routes belong to Sterling!” she was screaming at my lead driver, a loyal man named Hank.
I stepped out of my car, the cold rain hitting my face as I walked toward her.
“Rachel, you are trespassing on private property and interfering with interstate commerce,” I warned her loudly.
She spun around, her face twisted with a mixture of hatred and desperation.
“You stole our clients, Sarah!”
“I didn't steal them; they left because you are utterly incompetent.”
“I am the CEO!” she shrieked, stomping her foot like a petulant child.
“You’re a fraud,” I countered, stepping closer so only she could hear me.
“And if you don't get your goons out of my way, I will hand a very interesting folder of your 'wellness' receipts to the IRS.”
Rachel’s face went completely pale, all the color draining away in an instant.
She knew exactly what I was talking about.

Without another word, she signaled her guards and practically ran back to her vehicle.
Hank tipped his hat to me and signaled the crew to resume loading.
