Chapter 9 - The Boardroom Coup

The absolute panic within the corporate world had completely reached a boiling point by the time the sun finally rose over the frozen city.

Charles Cross completely refused to simply surrender or go entirely into hiding like a normal, rational criminal facing federal charges.

Instead, he aggressively utilized his remaining corporate power to completely force an emergency, mandatory meeting of the Cross Technologies Board of Directors.

He was entirely determined to officially execute a hostile corporate coup, permanently remove Julian as CEO, and completely seize total control of the company servers to destroy the evidence.

Julian, Matthew, and Marcus forcefully entered the massive, highly intimidating glass-and-steel corporate headquarters through a completely forgotten, underground maintenance tunnel.

They entirely bypassed the massive security checkpoints located in the main lobby, utilizing the secret elevator shaft that Arthur had successfully provided them.

The executive boardroom located precisely on the fiftieth floor was an incredibly tense, highly toxic battleground filled with extremely nervous billionaires.

Twelve powerful board members sat completely frozen around the massive, custom-built mahogany table.

Charles stood entirely confidently at the absolute head of the table, projecting an aura of complete, unshakeable corporate invincibility.

"The board's vote is entirely unanimous," Charles declared loudly, completely ignoring the terrified, nervous whispers of the assembled executives.

"Julian Cross is hereby officially relieved of his duties as Chief Executive Officer due to a severe, completely incapacitating mental breakdown."

Before a single person could physically sign the binding legal paperwork, the incredibly heavy, frosted glass doors of the boardroom completely shattered open.

Julian walked aggressively right through the broken glass, his expensive suit completely covered in white snow and dirty concrete dust from the tunnels.

Right behind him came a heavily armed Marcus, and a completely determined Matthew fiercely pushing his own wheelchair into the room.

The incredibly wealthy board members gasped completely in absolute shock, absolutely recognizing the supposedly dead older brother instantly.

"Call corporate security right now!" Charles bellowed furiously, his perfectly maintained composure instantly and violently shattering into pieces.

"Security works completely for me," Julian replied coldly, aggressively slamming the heavy leather journal entirely onto the center of the mahogany table.

Julian rapidly connected one of the encrypted hard drives completely into the boardroom's highly advanced, main digital projector system.

"You wanted to vote entirely on the future of this company?" Julian asked the terrified executives, his voice completely dripping with lethal authority.

"Let's vote entirely on this undeniable evidence."

He aggressively hit the enter key on the laptop, and the massive, wall-sized screens instantly illuminated with thousands of highly classified documents.

The screens completely displayed massive bank transfers to notorious offshore accounts and highly explicit emails actively negotiating the sale of classified user data.

And finally, the terrifying, undeniable audio file recovered from the destroyed black box played completely at maximum volume.

Charles's own recorded voice completely filled the silent room, ruthlessly ordering the private pilot to intentionally crash the plane and murder his wife.

The board members stared entirely in horrified, absolute silence at the monster who had successfully run their company for decades.

One of the senior female executives stood up violently, her hands completely shaking as she stared at her former boss in pure disgust.

"You brutally murdered your own wife to protect your money," she whispered entirely in shock, completely backing away from the table.

Suddenly, the incredibly loud, completely undeniable sound of wailing police sirens began echoing massively from the snowy city streets fifty stories below.
