Chapter 9 - The Siege

The roar of engines echoed through the valley. Victor Moretti hadn’t waited for Carlo’s negotiation. A convoy of black SUVs was speeding up the mountain road.
“Lock the house down!” Julian roared. “Marcus, get Clara and the boys into the panic room. Now!”
“I’m not leaving you!” Clara shouted over the sound of gunfire breaking the morning silence.
“You are protecting my sons!” Julian grabbed her face, kissing her hard. “I will come back for you. I swear on my life.”
Clara ran. She scooped up Reid, grabbed Roman and Rocco by the hands, and sprinted to the basement. The heavy steel door of the panic room slammed shut behind them, locking them in total silence while a war erupted above.

Outside, Julian became the monster the underworld feared. He moved with lethal precision, flanking Moretti’s men in the woods. His tactical team trapped the convoy on the narrow driveway, catching them in a devastating crossfire.
Julian’s focus was singular: Victor Moretti. He spotted the rival boss trying to retreat into an armored vehicle. Julian sprinted across the snow-dusted ground, firing twice. Moretti dropped.
