Chapter 9

Over the next five days, three more of Dante’s key lieutenants vanished or were found dead under mysterious circumstances.

A corrupt dock inspector was discovered drowned in his own luxury bathtub.

A weapons smuggler was found hanging from the rafters of his warehouse with another bloody origami crane at his feet.

Panic began to spread through the ranks of the Russo syndicate like a virus.

Dante’s men started looking over their shoulders, terrified of the shadows.

They were prepared for a gunfight in the streets, but they didn't know how to fight a phantom.

Elias watched the reports roll in with a mixture of immense respect and deep unease.

"She's dismantling a multi-million dollar empire on her own," Elias muttered to Julian.

Julian simply nodded, feeling a strange surge of pride.

Elara would return to the estate just before dawn, exhausted but completely unharmed.

She would debrief Julian in the dim light of the study, sipping black tea as if she hadn't just committed murder.

Their late-night conversations shifted from purely tactical to something deeper.

Julian found himself fascinated by her intellect, her cold logic, and the quiet sorrow hidden behind her eyes.

He began to realize that she was the only person in his world who truly understood the weight of the crown.

She didn't fear his power, and he didn't fear hers.

They were two apex predators who had finally found common ground.
