Chapter 13

Elias leaned out from behind the pew and laid down suppressing fire, forcing the remaining Russo men to keep their heads down.

"She’s a damn angel of death," Elias yelled over the deafening cracks of the sniper rifle.

Julian reloaded his pistol smoothly. "She is exactly what we needed."

Up in the tower, Elara tracked the movements of the guards through her scope, eliminating them systematically.

She didn't waste a single bullet; every shot was a calculated, lethal strike.

Within three minutes, eight of Carmine's ten guards were dead on the cathedral floor.

Dante, crawling frantically toward a side exit, realized he was about to lose everything.

His arrogance evaporated, replaced by a raw, primal terror he had never felt before.

He grabbed one of his wounded men, using him as a human shield to block the sniper’s line of sight.

Carmine was screaming at Dante, calling him a coward and demanding he fight back.

Instead of fighting, Dante turned his sidearm on his own uncle.

In a moment of pure, unhinged desperation, Dante shot Carmine Russo in the chest.

The old man collapsed against the altar, his eyes wide with betrayal.

Dante didn't look back; he shoved his human shield aside and kicked open the side door.

He fled into the freezing night, leaving his family's legacy bleeding out on the cold stone.
