Chapter 12

Carmine raised his hand, signaling his men to execute Julian and Elias where they stood.

Elias drew his weapon instantly, knowing they were hopelessly outgunned but ready to die fighting.

Dante aimed his rifle directly at Julian’s chest, his finger tightening on the trigger.

But before a single shot could be fired from the floor, the stained glass window high above shattered inward.

A high-caliber sniper round tore through the cathedral, striking Dante’s rifle and shattering the weapon in his hands.

The sheer kinetic force spun Dante around, dropping him to his knees in shock.

Panic erupted among the Russo guards as a second round took out the man closest to Carmine.

Elara was perched in the abandoned bell tower, looking through the thermal scope of a custom sniper rifle.

She breathed out slowly, her heart rate steady, her finger smoothly pulling the trigger again.

Every time she fired, a Russo guard fell to the stone floor.

She was raining death from above with absolute, terrifying precision.

Julian and Elias used the chaos to dive behind the heavy wooden pews, drawing their own weapons.

Carmine screamed in rage, trying to scramble behind the altar for cover.

Dante realized the sniper was single-handedly wiping out his entire squad.

The trap had been reversed, and the hunters were now the prey.
