Chapter 11 - The Fall of the Traitor

Julian and Clara managed to slip out the back of the warehouse through a drainage tunnel, avoiding the brunt of Romanov's forces. They hijacked a car and sped back toward the Moretti compound.
Before they went to the Gold Coast to rescue Lily, Julian had to secure his home. Vance was still there, embedded like a parasite, and the twins were vulnerable.
They arrived at the estate just as the sun began to rise. Julian burst through the front doors, the terrifying aura of a king returning to reclaim his throne radiating from him.
Vance was in the grand foyer, holding a phone to his ear, pacing nervously. When he saw Julian, covered in blood and grime, the color completely drained from his face.
“Julian! Thank God,” Vance lied smoothly, reaching for the gun holstered at his hip. “We lost contact with you. I thought you were dead.”
“You hoped I was dead,” Julian roared, crossing the foyer with terrifying speed.
Before Vance could draw his weapon, Julian’s fist collided with his jaw, shattering it instantly. Vance hit the marble floor hard. Julian’s loyal guards immediately drew their weapons, pointing them directly at the traitor.
“You sold out my family to Romanov,” Julian hissed, standing over the bleeding man. “You used my dying children as leverage for power.”

Vance coughed up blood, laughing bitterly. “Your empire is falling, Julian! Romanov is going to wipe you out!”
“Romanov is a dead man walking,” Julian promised. He looked at his head of security. “Take Vance to the basement. Keep him alive. I want to deal with him personally when my sons are safe.”
