Chapter 9 - The Proposal

Six months later, Callahan's Pub was entirely shut down for a private event.
Phil the owner was sweating nervously, trying to serve champagne to a room full of terrifying men in expensive suits.
Josie stood near the bar where she used to work, wearing a stunning emerald green gown that Constantine had bought for her.
Liam was sitting at a table nearby, looking completely healthy and laughing with one of the guards.
The bell above the door chimed, and Constantine walked in, holding Mila's hand.
He walked right up to the exact spot where Tate had assaulted his daughter months ago.
The entire pub went silent, the tension thick until Constantine smiled.
He dropped to one knee right there on the sticky wooden floor, pulling a velvet box from his pocket.
"Josephine Morrow, you saved my daughter with a grilled cheese sandwich, and you saved my soul with your courage," he declared loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"
Tears blurred Josie's vision as she looked at the man who had terrified her and then loved her.

"Yes," she whispered, pulling him up by the lapels to kiss him deeply.
The pub erupted into cheers, the sound of rough men celebrating a love story they never saw coming.
