Chapter 4 - The Phantom Vault

The explosion was a distraction—Arthur’s private security detail, a shadow unit operating outside the law, had been monitoring the safe house. They swarmed the property, forcing Clara's mercenaries into a bloody retreat.

The leader of the shadow unit, a scarred man named Thorne, kicked open the bathroom door.

"Arthur sent me," Thorne said, extending a hand to Mrs. Gable. "We need to get to the bank before Clara makes bail."

By dawn, Thorne had smuggled them into the underground catacombs of the First National Depository. Using the silver key, Lily unlocked Vault 777.

Inside wasn't just cash. It was a war room.

Walls of servers, stacks of ledgers, and a single briefcase containing the master shares of Sterling Industries. Arthur had meticulously documented every illegal bribe, assassination, and wire fraud Clara and her syndicate had committed over the last decade.

"This is enough to put them all in federal prison for three lifetimes," Thorne said, flipping through a ledger.

But Mrs. Gable was looking at a photograph taped to the inside of the vault door. It was a picture of Arthur, holding a newborn baby. Written at the bottom were the words: For my Lily. My everything.

"We have the proof," Mrs. Gable said, her voice hardening into steel. "Now, we take back her company."
