Chapter 10 - The Sterling Legacy

Clara shrieked in pain, her grip loosening for a fraction of a second.

It was all Thorne needed.

He didn't reach for his rifle. He drew a combat knife from his belt and threw it with lethal precision. The blade buried itself deep into Clara’s shoulder.

She dropped the gun, screaming in agony, and fell to her knees.

Mrs. Gable sprinted forward, snatching Lily into her arms and pulling her away just as FBI tactical teams shattered the glass of the boardroom doors, swarming the room.

Clara was dragged away, bleeding, screaming curses, her empire of lies completely demolished.

Six Months Later

The massive gates of the Sterling Estate swung open. The dark clouds that had hung over the property for years had finally cleared.

Mrs. Gable sat in the garden, sipping tea. She was no longer wearing a maid's uniform. She wore a tailored suit, acting as the legally appointed conservator and CEO of Sterling Industries until Lily came of age.

Lily ran across the grass, not in cartoon pajamas, but in a bright yellow sundress. She was laughing, chasing a golden retriever puppy across the lawn.

Mrs. Gable watched her, a warm smile spreading across her face. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the bright pink plastic toy phone, turning it over in her hands. It was broken, the battery dead, but it remained the most valuable thing Arthur Sterling had ever purchased.

The billionaire had died, but his final move was a masterpiece. He had protected his bloodline, destroyed his enemies, and left his legacy in the hands of the two people who truly deserved it.
