Chapter 5 - Setting the Trap

Luke immediately went to work, drafting a devastating divorce petition citing severe domestic abuse and financial fraud.
We requested an emergency restraining order against both Justin and Vanessa, securing my sole custody of Maya.
But we needed to ensure Justin couldn't hide the embezzled money before the courts froze his assets.
We decided to lay a very careful, psychological trap for him.
I sent Justin a carefully crafted text message later that evening.
"I am willing to talk, but we need to meet in a public place tomorrow."
He replied almost instantly, thinking I was finally breaking down and surrendering.
"Fine.
My office boardroom at noon.
Don't be late, Clara."
He wanted to meet at his corporate office to intimidate me with his power and status.
He had no idea I was walking into his territory armed with a nuclear bomb.
That night, I barely slept, rehearsing every single word I was going to say.
I looked at Maya sleeping gently in her crib, promising her that she would never have to fear that man again.
