Chapter 9 - A New Dawn

Six months passed, and my life transformed completely.

I officially took the reins of the Vance Corporation as the acting CEO.

I doubled our quarterly profits and expanded our tech divisions globally.

The media called me the most powerful businesswoman of the decade.

I was invited to exclusive galas, graced the covers of magazines, and built a legacy of my own.

I never heard from the Sterling family again, but Arthur kept tabs on them just in case.

Liam had taken a job as a middle manager at a logistics firm, barely making enough to pay rent.

Chloe was serving community service hours picking up trash on the highways.

Mrs. Sterling spent her days watching television in their small apartment, bitter and entirely alone.

They were exactly where they deserved to be.

One evening, I hosted a massive charity ball at the Vance estate to raise money for children's hospitals.

The ballroom was filled with billionaires, politicians, and the true elite of society.

I wore a stunning, custom-made crimson gown that commanded the attention of the entire room.

As I mingled with the guests, a handsome, distinguished man approached me.

It was Julian, the CEO of our biggest rival tech company.

He was brilliant, respectful, and had been trying to get my attention for months.

"You look absolutely breathtaking tonight, Nora," Julian smiled, handing me a glass of champagne.

"Thank you, Julian. Are you here to steal my investors?" I teased him lightly.

"No, I am just here to steal a dance with the most incredible woman in the room," he replied smoothly.

I smiled, a real, genuine smile that reached my eyes.

I took his hand, and he led me onto the dance floor.
