Liam was desperate.
By Wednesday, his company was on the verge of bankruptcy due to the pulled contracts.
He drove his expensive sports car up to the massive iron gates of the Vance estate.
He buzzed the intercom, begging to speak with me.
"Nora, please, just give me five minutes to explain!" his voice crackled over the speaker.
I was sitting in my father's office, watching him through the high-definition security cameras.
"Tell him the heiress is unavailable," I instructed the head of security.
Liam hit the steering wheel in frustration as the guards ordered him to leave the private road immediately.
He finally realized the massive gap between our worlds.
He was a minor millionaire in a failing business.
I was the sole heir to a global empire that could crush him with a single phone call.
Later that afternoon, Chloe tried to do damage control by posting a tearful apology video online.
She claimed it was all a misunderstanding and that she loved her sister-in-law.
The internet tore her apart.
Comments flooded in, calling her a spoiled brat and a criminal for trying to frame me.
To make matters worse, the jewelry store where the necklace was insured decided to press charges for attempted fraud.
Because she had hidden it and claimed it was stolen, it became a criminal matter.
Chloe was arrested at a trendy coffee shop while having lunch with her friends.
Mrs. Sterling called Liam in hysterics, demanding that he use his money to bail her out.
