Chapter 5 - The Corporate Strike

I didn't just want to embarrass them; I wanted to break them completely.
I officially took over the acquisitions department of the Vance Corporation on Monday morning.
My first target was Sterling Innovations, Liam's pride and joy.
I knew that his company relied heavily on a specific microchip supplier in Taiwan.

"I have drafted the divorce papers, and my lawyers will be sending them to your office."
"I am not signing them, Nora! I love you!" he cried desperately.
"You love my money, Liam, and you love the fact that you messed up the biggest opportunity of your life."
I hung up the phone and blocked his number entirely.
Mrs. Sterling finally realized the severity of the situation.
She swallowed her immense pride and showed up at the lobby of my corporate headquarters.

She demanded to see me, screaming at the receptionists.
I let her wait in the lobby for four hours before sending a security guard to throw her out.
