Chapter 10 - The Wedding and The Reward

Three weeks later, the cathedral was filled with white roses.
Aleandro stood at the altar, watching Isabella walk down the aisle.
She looked radiant, but more importantly, she looked truly free.
Her sister, Sofia, stood in the front row, holding hands with a nurse who was aiding her recovery.
When Isabella reached him, she didn't just smile; she looked at him with absolute, unbreakable devotion.
"You saved us," she whispered as he took her hands.
"I protected what is mine," he replied, kissing her softly before the priest even began.
The ceremony was a testament to power, loyalty, and a love forged in fire.
At the extravagant reception, Aleandro slipped away for a moment.
He walked into the grand hallway where a six-year-old girl in a new velvet dress was eating cake.
Emma looked up, her cheeks smeared with chocolate.
Aleandro crouched down, handing her a thick, sealed envelope.
"For your mother," Aleandro said gently.
"It is the deed to a new house, and a trust fund for your education."
Emma took the envelope, wiping her mouth with a napkin.
"Thank you, sir," she said politely.
"No, Emma," the most feared mafia boss in New York replied, placing a hand on her small shoulder.
