Chapter 6 - The Unexpected Allies

Aunt Linda was true to her word.
She showed up an hour later with bags of fresh food, diapers, and a hot casserole.
When she saw me, she immediately pulled me into a tight, warm hug.
It was the first time someone had hugged me since I went into labor.
I finally broke down and cried, soaking her shoulder with tears of pure relief.
“They are monsters, Sarah,” Linda whispered, rubbing my back.
“I knew Brenda was selfish, but I never knew it was this bad.”
As we unpacked the groceries, Linda told me about the chaos happening online.
My post had completely destroyed Brenda’s victim narrative.
Family members who had previously supported Brenda were now publicly calling her out in the comments.
People were demanding to know why Jessica couldn't buy her own kids laptops.
Brenda had frantically deleted her original post, but the damage was already done.
Everyone had seen the truth.
“They are panicking,” Linda told me with a satisfied smirk.
“Your mother called me crying, saying you faked those text messages.”
“I told her she was a liar and hung up on her.”
I smiled down at Maya, feeling a massive weight lift from my chest.
