Chapter 6 - The Courtroom Drama

The courthouse was cold and sterile, echoing with the nervous whispers of dozens of families waiting for their lives to change.

Evan and Brenda arrived wearing brand new designer clothes, looking more like they were attending a country club brunch than a custody hearing.

Brenda loudly complained about the smell of the waiting area, making sure everyone knew she felt superior to them.

When our case was finally called, we walked into the small courtroom and took our seats opposite the monsters who had tortured my family.

Evan’s cheap lawyer immediately stood up and began weaving a tale of absolute fiction.

He painted Delilah as a reckless, financially irresponsible woman who abandoned her family and signed over the house in a fit of guilt.

The judge, a stern-faced woman named Honorable Davis, listened quietly before turning her piercing gaze to our side of the room.

“Mr. Vance, your client is facing severe allegations of abandonment and financial instability,” the judge stated.

Marcus stood up slowly, buttoning his suit jacket with dramatic flair.

“Your Honor, my client is a victim of a sophisticated financial fraud and illegal eviction orchestrated by the petitioner,” Marcus announced boldly.

Evan scoffed loudly, rolling his eyes, while Brenda muttered something insulting under her breath.

Marcus confidently walked to the center of the floor and handed a thick binder of verified evidence directly to the judge.

“Inside, you will find proof that the quitclaim deed transferring the property was entirely forged by Evan Mercer.”

“Furthermore, you will see a certified affidavit from the notary public, confirming her stamp was stolen and used illegally.”

The color instantly drained from Evan’s face, and he nervously grabbed his lawyer’s sleeve.

The trap had officially snapped shut, and there was no way out.
