Chapter 7 - The Police Arrive

I dialed 911, my hands shaking as I explained the situation to the dispatcher.
"My wife is violent, armed, and tied up in our bedroom," I stated clearly.
"We need police and an ambulance immediately."
Within ten minutes, the sound of blaring sirens shattered the quiet of our upscale neighborhood.
Red and blue lights flashed through the large windows of our home.
I walked down the grand staircase and opened the front door for the armed officers.
They rushed inside, weapons drawn, sweeping the house for any remaining threats.
I led them upstairs to the master bedroom, where Victoria was dramatically crying.
"Officers, thank God you are here!" Victoria wailed, putting on the performance of a lifetime.
"My husband has gone crazy and tied me up!"
"He and the nanny are having an affair and trying to murder me!"
The lead officer looked at me suspiciously, his hand resting cautiously on his holster.
"Sir, step away from the woman," the officer commanded strictly.
I raised my hands slowly, backing away to give them space.
"Officers, she is lying," I said calmly, knowing exactly how to play this.
"She attacked the nanny, tied her up, and then came after me with a knife."
"Look at her hands!" Victoria screamed, pointing toward the nursery.
"The nanny attacked me, that is why she is bleeding!"

The police officers exchanged confused glances, unsure of who to believe in this chaotic scene.
"I have proof," I announced quietly, cutting through Victoria’s hysterical lies.
