Chapter 5 - The Sister's Confession

While Jessica was scrambling, Marcus and I paid a visit to the other architect of my misery: Jessica’s sister, Chloe.
Chloe was the one who had registered the dummy corporations used to steal my money and frame Sarah. We found her at her upscale yoga studio, sipping a green smoothie.
When I walked in, flanked by two private security guards, Chloe dropped her drink. It splattered all over the hardwood floor.
“David,” she stammered. “What are you doing here?”
I dropped a massive stack of banking documents onto the reception desk.
“Wire fraud, Chloe,” I said calmly. “Money laundering. Grand larceny. That’s twenty years in federal prison.”
Chloe’s eyes darted toward the door, but my guards blocked the exit. “I... I don't know what you’re talking about!”
“We have the IP addresses,” Marcus chimed in. “We know the transfers were made from your laptop. We also have the text messages between you and Jessica laughing about how easy it was to frame Sarah.”
Chloe burst into tears, her designer yoga pants trembling. “It was Jessica’s idea! She said Sarah was a gold digger! She said you deserved someone better, and she promised to pay off my student loans if I helped her!”
“I don't care about your excuses,” I said, leaning in close. “You are going to walk into the FBI field office today, and you are going to sign a full confession. You are going to hand over every piece of evidence you have against your sister. If you do that, my lawyers will recommend leniency. If you don't, I will personally fund the prosecution that buries you under the jail.”

Chloe nodded frantically, sobbing uncontrollably.
The web was unspooling, and Jessica was running out of places to hide.
