Chapter 7 - The Midnight Alliance

Arthur returned to Sarah's crumbling apartment that night, looking defeated but completely resolute.

"He admitted it," Arthur told Sarah, pulling a blueprint of the Vance Biomedical laboratories out of his coat.

"But he threatened to cut off Chloe's supply if I expose him."

Sarah looked at the blueprints, her brilliant mind already analyzing the security protocols.

"Victor doesn't just have the temporary medicine in that building," Sarah whispered, tracing a finger over the schematic.

"He has my original, finalized formula for the permanent cure locked in the basement vault."

"If we can get the original formula, we can cure both Chloe and my son, permanently."

Arthur nodded, rolling up his sleeves and preparing to risk his entire empire for the truth.

"I built that security system, which means I know exactly how to bypass the first three levels," Arthur said.

"But the basement vault requires Victor's biometric fingerprint and an active retinal scan."

Mia, who had been listening quietly from the corner, suddenly spoke up.

"I know how we can trick a retinal scanner," the eight-year-old said simply.

Arthur and Sarah both turned to the little girl in sheer astonishment.
