Chapter 4 - Ghosts of the Past
Sarah stared at the billionaire, her face turning as pale as a ghost.
"Arthur," she whispered, instinctively stepping in front of her sick son to shield him.
Six years ago, Dr. Sarah Jenkins had been the lead genetic researcher at Arthur's massive biomedical corporation.
She had been brilliant, dedicated, and on the verge of curing a rare neurological disease.
Then, millions of dollars went missing, the research was destroyed, and all the evidence pointed directly to Sarah.
Arthur had fired her, threatened her with prison, and blacklisted her from every laboratory in the country.
"What are you doing here?" Sarah demanded, her voice shaking with a mixture of terror and anger.
"Your daughter saved my child's life at the train station today," Arthur explained, still in shock.
Arthur looked at the sick boy on the floor, noticing the exact same symptoms his own daughter suffered from.
"Sarah, is that boy sick with the Genesis Mutation?" Arthur asked slowly.
"Yes, he is," Sarah snapped bitterly.

Arthur felt the room spinning as the pieces of a massive, horrifying puzzle began to snap together.
