Chapter 1 - The Miracle in the Station
The tiny eight-year-old girl dropped to her knees on the cold marble floor.
Her scuffed sneakers squeaked against the polished stone as she positioned herself next to the dying five-year-old.
Arthur Vance, the billionaire real estate tycoon, reached out to push the strange child away from his daughter, Chloe.
"Don't touch her!" Arthur screamed, his voice cracking with sheer panic.
But the ragged girl did not even flinch at the powerful man's command.
"Her vagal nerve is being crushed by the brace, and her airway is locked," the girl said, her voice surprisingly calm.
Before anyone could stop her, she unlatched the expensive titanium leg brace with practiced speed.
She then placed two small fingers exactly on the side of Chloe's neck and applied a very specific, rhythmic pressure.
Next, she tilted Chloe's jaw at an awkward, precise angle that the paramedics had missed.
For three terrifying seconds, the bustling train station was completely silent.
Then, Chloe's chest heaved upward violently as she sucked in a massive, ragged breath of air.
The gray color immediately began to drain from the little girl's face, replaced by a healthy, flushed pink.
Arthur collapsed beside them, sobbing uncontrollably as he pulled his breathing daughter into his arms.
