Chapter 7 - The Desperate Ambush

Desperation makes arrogant people do incredibly foolish things.

Refusing to accept defeat, Richard decided to confront Arthur at his corporate headquarters on Friday afternoon.

He marched through the glass doors of the lobby, demanding to see the CEO immediately.

“I am his father, you tell him to get down here right now!” Richard yelled at the terrified receptionist.

Before the receptionist could hit the panic button, two large security guards stepped out from the elevators.

Arthur had anticipated this exact scenario and had given security strict instructions regarding his parents.

“Sir, you are trespassing on private property, you need to leave immediately,” the head guard stated.

“I built him! I gave him everything!” Richard screamed, his face turning a dangerous shade of purple.

He tried to push past the guards toward the elevator banks.

Within seconds, Richard was wrestled to the marble floor and restrained.

The police arrived shortly after, handcuffing Richard and dragging him out of the building in front of dozens of Arthur’s employees.

Arthur watched the entire pathetic scene unfold on the security monitors from his corner office.

He felt no guilt, only a cold confirmation that he had made the right choice.

His father cared more about money and control than he ever cared about his own son.
