Chapter 6 - The Repossession

The humiliation on the internet was only the beginning of their downfall.

Thursday morning, two tow trucks arrived at the luxury condo complex where Richard and Margaret lived.

Richard ran out onto the driveway in his bathrobe, waving his arms frantically.

“You can’t take these cars, they belong to us!” Richard shouted at the burly tow truck driver.

The driver calmly handed Richard a legal document detailing the actual ownership.

“The title is in Arthur Vance's name, buddy, step back or I’m calling the cops,” the driver warned.

Margaret watched from the balcony, sobbing as both her Mercedes and Richard’s Range Rover were hauled away.

Later that afternoon, a process server arrived to officially hand them the thirty-day eviction notice.

Their neighbors watched from their windows, whispering and pointing at the disgraced couple.

They had spent years bragging about their wealthy son and their luxurious lifestyle to anyone who would listen.

Now, everyone in the building knew the truth about their financial dependency.

Richard tried to call Arthur’s office fifty times, but every call was automatically routed to a voicemail that was never checked.
