Chapter 1 - The Eviction

The crash of the champagne tower echoed like thunder across the suddenly silent patio.
Expensive crystal shattered into a thousand jagged pieces across the expensive mahogany decking.
Arthur did not blink, keeping his broad shoulders positioned protectively in front of his three trembling children.
Richard lay sprawled in the pool of sparkling wine, his face red with shock and the stinging imprint of Arthur’s hand.
Margaret gasped, clutching her pearls as she stared at her son in absolute horror.
“You ungrateful monster!” Margaret shrieked, her voice shaking with rage.
Arthur’s expression remained as cold and unyielding as a glacier.
“I paid for the catering, the decorations, the venue, and the food you refused to let my children eat,” Arthur said, his voice carrying clearly over the stunned crowd.
“This party is officially over.”
A murmur of shock rippled through the gathered relatives and family friends.
“You can’t do this, we have guests!” Richard sputtered, struggling to his feet while slipping on the wet wood.
“I just did,” Arthur replied, turning his back on his father without a second thought.
He knelt down, his expression softening instantly as he looked at Chloe, Ethan, and Liam.
“Go to the car, kids, I am right behind you,” he whispered gently.
As the children scurried away, Arthur turned back to the crowd.
“Everyone has exactly five minutes to vacate this property before I call the police for trespassing,” he announced.

Several cousins tried to protest, but the deadly serious look in Arthur’s eyes silenced them immediately.
He was done being the family ATM and the family punching bag.
