Chapter 9 - The Verdict and The Vengeance

The jury deliberated for less than two hours before returning to a courtroom completely electrified with tension.
The foreman stood up, unfolding a small piece of paper that held Isabella's ultimate fate.
"On the charges of attempted murder, child endangerment, and fraud, we find the defendant... guilty on all counts."
The judge slammed his wooden gavel, sentencing Isabella to maximum security prison without the possibility of parole.
Isabella began sobbing hysterically, screaming curses as the guards dragged her away in heavy iron chains.
Arthur let out a massive breath, pulling Sarah and Leo into a tight, desperate embrace.
The nightmare was finally over, and justice had been served.
They walked out of the courthouse, blinded by the flashing cameras of the paparazzi celebrating the verdict.
Suddenly, a massive man wearing a dark hoodie burst through the crowd, holding a gleaming hunting knife.
It was Marcus, Isabella's loyal outside accomplice, determined to carry out her final revenge.
"This is for Isabella!" the madman screamed, lunging straight toward Sarah with the deadly blade.
Arthur reacted with pure instinct, throwing his body in front of Sarah and kicking the attacker square in the chest.
The knife clattered to the concrete steps as security guards immediately swarmed the desperate criminal.
Arthur pulled a shaking Sarah into his arms, checking every inch of her to ensure she was unharmed.

"I'm okay," Sarah cried, burying her face in his chest. "Because you protected me."
