Chapter 15 - The Wedding Day

The bells of the grand cathedral rang out across Rome.

Thousands of white roses adorned the pews and the altar.

Guests arrived in their finest suits and gowns, unaware of the impending danger.

Elena stood in the dressing room, wearing a breathtaking lace gown.

Marco knocked and entered, bowing his head respectfully.

"The perimeter is secure, Donna Elena," Marco reported.

"Marchesi's men have taken the bait and are moving into the courtyard."

Elena adjusted her veil, her face completely calm.

"Let them get inside the gates before you close the trap," she ordered.

The music began to play, and she walked down the aisle.

Lorenzo stood at the altar, looking dangerously handsome in a tailored tuxedo.

He took her hand, his thumb tracing the lace of her glove.

"Ready?" he whispered.

"Always," she replied softly.

Just as the priest began the ceremony, the heavy doors burst open.
