Chapter 1 - The Undeniable Truth

The tablet in the head guard’s hand felt heavier than a brick. Alexander Reed, a man who had built a billion-dollar empire from the ground up, stood frozen in the grand foyer of his own home. At his feet lay his mother, Evelyn, her silver hair stained with a slowly expanding halo of crimson.
"Call an ambulance! Now!" Alexander roared, his voice cracking as he dropped to his knees, his expensive suit soaking up the blood on the marble floor.
"Sir, the ambulance is already on its way," the head guard, Marcus, said with a grim expression. He held out the glowing screen. "But you need to see this. Right now."
Victoria, who had been orchestrating a face of sheer, panic-stricken innocence, suddenly went pale. "Alexander, she slipped!" Victoria cried out, rushing down the stairs with perfectly timed tears welling in her eyes. "I tried to catch her! I swear I tried!"
Alexander didn't look at her. He snatched the tablet from Marcus. It was the feed from the hidden security camera he had installed in the upper chandelier—a camera Victoria didn't know existed.
On the screen, in high definition, the truth played out. He watched his mother turn away, defeated. He watched Victoria’s face twist into a snarl of pure malice. “You old woman… you should have stayed away.” And then, he watched the woman he had asked to marry him raise both hands and violently shove his fragile mother down the stairs.
The air in the room was sucked away.
Alexander slowly lowered the tablet. His eyes, usually warm and calculating, were empty voids as he looked up at Victoria.

"Alexander," Victoria stammered, stepping back, reading the lethal calm on his face. "It's… it's a deep fake. Someone is trying to frame me. You know I would never—"
"Marcus," Alexander interrupted, his voice a low, terrifying whisper. "Lock the gates. No one leaves this property. If she tries to run, break her legs."
