Chapter 7 - THE SMOKING GUN

The trial lasted for four grueling, emotionally exhausting days.
On the third day, the prosecutor introduced the most damning piece of evidence of all.
It was the recorded audio clip of my parents attempting to bribe me in Lily's hospital room.
The entire courtroom listened in stunned silence as my mother offered me one hundred thousand dollars to lie to the police.
They heard my father aggressively order me to drop the felony charges to protect the family name.
My parents physically shrank into their seats as the jury turned to look at them with absolute disgust.
The judge immediately ordered the bailiffs to detain my parents for blatant witness tampering and obstruction of justice.
My mother screamed hysterically as the female bailiff placed her in handcuffs.
"We were just trying to protect our family!" she cried out.
"You have no right to do this to us!"
The judge banged his heavy wooden gavel, his face completely stern.
"You protected a violent abuser and attempted to subvert the law," the judge stated coldly.
"You will both be held in contempt and formally charged by the district attorney."
I watched them get dragged out of the courtroom in heavy chains.
I felt absolutely zero pity for them.
They had spent their entire lives treating me like garbage while worshiping a monster.
Now, they were finally reaping exactly what they had sown.
The prosecutor then played the full, unedited security footage on the massive courtroom screen.
The jury watched Harrison violently slam the heavy oak board into my daughter's fragile head.

Several jurors visibly gasped, and one woman even covered her mouth in sheer horror.
The trial was effectively over before the defense even had a chance to rest their case.
