Chapter 3 - The Interrogation

Isabella was forcefully shoved into a heavy leather chair in the drawing room. Her wrists were zip-tied behind her back by Marcus. Despite her ruined plans, she desperately tried to maintain her aristocratic composure.
"Julian, darling, you must listen to me," Isabella pleaded, her voice trembling. "She’s unstable. That woman is a lookalike. An impostor hired by your rivals to ruin my reputation! I was only keeping her contained for your safety!"
Julian slowly poured a glass of bourbon. He didn't drink it. Instead, he walked over and splashed the amber liquid directly into Isabella’s face. She gasped, sputtering as the alcohol stung her eyes.
"Four years," Julian said, his voice dropping to a terrifying whisper. "I spent billions searching the globe. I buried an empty casket. I mourned my soulmate. And you were upstairs, sipping my wine, while she was locked in a concrete box."
"I loved you!" Isabella shrieked, finally dropping the act. "She didn't deserve this empire! She was weak, Julian! I was the one who helped you secure the Vance merger. I was the one who stood by your side at every gala! I am the real Mrs. Sterling!"

"You are nothing but a parasite," Julian sneered. "But you couldn't have pulled this off alone. How did you feed her? How did you move her around the house without the staff noticing?"
Isabella’s crazed eyes darted around the room. A wicked, desperate smile crawled onto her lips. "You think you're so smart, Julian. But you are blind. Do you really think I managed a private dungeon by myself? You have a traitor in your house. And if you send me to prison, I'll never tell you who it is."
