Chapter 15 - A New Dawn (The Ending)

A year later, the sprawling gardens of the Sterling estate were in full bloom. The dark clouds that had hung over the manor had completely vanished, replaced by golden afternoon sunlight and the sweet smell of jasmine.

Julian sat on a woven patio chair, a gentle smile on his face as he watched Clara. She was in the garden, kneeling in the dirt, but this time, it was by choice. She was planting vibrant red roses, laughing as their new golden retriever puppy bounded through the flowerbeds, covered in mud.

The scars on her wrists had faded to faint white lines, a quiet reminder of a nightmare she had finally conquered. The Sterling empire was thriving, fully purged of corruption, and their charitable foundation for victims of trauma was heavily funded and saving lives globally.

Clara wiped a smudge of dirt from her forehead and looked up, catching Julian’s eye. She stood, brushing off her knees, and walked over to him. She sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"What are you looking at?" she asked playfully.

"Just the most beautiful woman in the world," Julian replied, pulling her close. "The real lady of the house."

Clara rested her head against his chest, listening to the steady, strong beat of his heart. They had been to hell and back, separated by walls and wicked lies. But in the end, love and truth had burned the shadows away.

"No," Clara smiled, looking out over the peaceful estate they had reclaimed. "Just a woman who finally found her way home."
