Chapter 1 - The Three Words

The grand hall of the Sterling estate was dead silent. The shattered porcelain lay scattered across the pristine hardwood, a sharp contrast to the lavish wealth surrounding them. Julian Sterling stood frozen, his heart pounding against his ribs like a sledgehammer. The woman kneeling before him—the frail, trembling housekeeper in a ragged apron—was Clara. His Clara.
Up on the balcony, Isabella Vance’s champagne glass had shattered, mirroring the destruction of her carefully crafted illusion. She gripped the marble railing, her knuckles white, her smug facade entirely completely melting away.
Julian dropped to his knees, his expensive suit dipping into the spilled tea. He reached out, his hands shaking, afraid that if he touched her, she would vanish into thin air like a ghost. But as his fingers brushed her bruised cheek, she leaned into his warmth. It was real.
"Clara," Julian choked out, his voice thick with four years of unshed tears. "My God. What has she done to you?"
Clara slowly lifted her gaze. Her eyes, once bright and full of life, were hollowed out by unspeakable torment. As Isabella tried to laugh it off from the balcony, claiming it was a misunderstanding, Clara raised her trembling hands. She pointed a bruised finger toward the second floor, looking directly at the woman who had stolen her life.
Then, she whispered three words that completely destroyed Isabella’s life: "Behind the mirrors."
Julian’s blood ran cold. His eyes shot up to Isabella, whose face had just drained of all color. Without a second thought, Julian stood up, his sorrow instantly turning into a lethal, unyielding rage.

"Lock down the estate!" Julian roared, his voice echoing off the vaulted ceilings. "No one leaves. If Isabella Vance takes a single step toward the door, break her legs!"
Isabella turned to run, but Julian’s private security detail was already swarming the staircase, their weapons drawn. The reign of the false queen was over.
