Chapter 13 - The Courtroom Confrontation

The courthouse was a media circus. Reporters clamored for a glimpse of the resurrected billionaire’s wife. As Julian and Clara stepped out of their armored SUV, cameras flashed like lightning. Julian kept a protective arm around her, but Clara walked tall, ignoring the chaos.

Inside the courtroom, Isabella sat at the defense table, wearing a drab orange jumpsuit. Her hair was greasy, her aristocratic arrogance entirely broken. When the heavy wooden doors opened and Clara walked in, the entire room fell dead silent.

Isabella turned. Her eyes widened in absolute shock and horror. The woman she had starved, beaten, and buried behind a wall was standing before her, radiating wealth, power, and untouchable grace.

Clara took the witness stand. When asked to identify her captor, Clara didn't just point. She stared directly into Isabella’s soul.

"For four years, she tried to erase my existence," Clara spoke clearly, her voice echoing in the silent room. "She forced me to scrub the floors of my own home while she drank my wine. She told me I was forgotten. But she was wrong. I am Clara Sterling. And she is nothing but a thief who failed."

Isabella buried her face in her hands, violently sobbing. The jury didn't even need to deliberate for long. The evidence, combined with Clara’s devastating testimony, was absolute.
