Chapter 6 - The Turning Point

The courtyard of the ranch had transformed into an absolute warzone.

Gunfire echoed against the mountains, completely drowning out the serene morning sounds.

Arthur took aim from the porch, firing a heavy blast that shattered the back window of the nearest SUV.

The intruders scrambled for cover, entirely unprepared for this level of resistance.

Titan was completely relentless.

He circled the vehicles like a predator, refusing to let the men escape.

When one of the cartel thugs tried to sprint toward the open gates, Titan cut him off instantly.

The horse stomped the ground menacingly, driving the terrified man back toward the line of fire.

"Fall back!" the leader screamed, realizing they were losing the fight drastically.

They desperately tried to pile into the only functioning SUV left.

Sheriff Miller leaned against the porch rail, ignoring the agonizing pain in his shoulder.

He fired three precise shots into the rear tires of the escape vehicle.

The heavy tires blew out instantly, dropping the SUV to the dirt with a loud, metallic scrape.

The leader of the group kicked his door open, raising an automatic weapon toward the porch.

He aimed directly at Arthur’s chest.

But before he could pull the trigger, a massive black blur intercepted his line of sight.

Titan rammed the open car door with his hind legs.

The heavy steel door slammed shut with bone-crushing force, trapping the man's arm.

The leader screamed in agony, his weapon clattering uselessly to the ground.

Arthur sprinted down the porch stairs and kicked the gun away.

He leveled his shotgun directly at the man's head.

"It's over," Arthur snarled, his eyes burning with fury.

The remaining men in the vehicle threw their hands out of the shattered windows in complete surrender.
