Chapter 5 - The Wrath of Titan

The scream from the barn was so loud and vicious that the intruders froze in their tracks.

Arthur knew exactly what that sound meant.

The farmhands must have released Titan from his stall when the shooting started.

Through the small, grated cellar window, Arthur saw a terrifying, magnificent sight.

The 1,200-pound black stallion came charging out of the barn like a localized hurricane.

His eyes rolled back, and his powerful hooves tore chunks of earth from the ground.

Titan charged directly at the men standing near the black SUVs.

One of the armed men tried to raise his rifle, but he was far too slow.

The stallion slammed his massive chest into the man, sending him flying backward through the air.

The man crashed violently into the windshield of the SUV, shattering the glass upon impact.

"Shoot the horse!" the leader screamed from the porch, completely abandoning his search for the cellar.

The intruders turned their weapons toward the raging animal.

But Titan was incredibly fast and impossibly smart.

He weaved between the vehicles, using the heavy metal frames as a shield against the incoming gunfire.

He reared up again, bringing his iron-shoed hooves down on the hood of a car, completely crushing the engine block.

The distraction was absolute perfection.

Arthur kicked the cellar door open and rushed up the stairs, his shotgun leveled.

He found Sheriff Miller bleeding from a shoulder wound but very much alive, taking cover behind the kitchen counter.

"Let's take our house back," Arthur yelled over the chaos.

Together, they moved toward the front door to join the chaotic battle raging in the yard.

The cartel members were now hopelessly trapped between an armed rancher, a wounded sheriff, and a demon horse.
