Chapter 6 - The Airport Trap

Before we could take the hard drive to Detective Ramirez, my phone buzzed with an emergency alert.
It was a notification from Matthew’s joint credit card.
A one-way, first-class ticket to Geneva, Switzerland, had just been purchased under Olivia’s maiden name.
“She knows the police are closing in,” Matthew realized, staring at the screen in horror.
“She’s fleeing the country tonight.”
We rushed out of the house and drove frantically toward Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
I called Detective Ramirez on the way, screaming the flight details over the roar of the highway traffic.
We arrived at the international terminal just as the final boarding call was being announced.
I scanned the massive, crowded concourse, my eyes darting past hundreds of travelers.
Then, I saw her.
Olivia was wearing a sleek black trench coat and large sunglasses, handing her passport to the gate agent.
“Olivia!” Matthew shouted, his voice echoing across the terminal.
She froze, slowly turning around to face the husband she had tried to completely destroy.
She did not look panicked; instead, she looked entirely annoyed.
“You’re too late, Matthew,” she sneered, stepping past the security podium.

Before she could step onto the jet bridge, four armed TSA agents stepped out from the shadows.
