Chapter 7 - The Final Judgment

Silas desperately lunged forward, wildly pulling a hidden silver combat knife from his expensive leather belt.

Julian sidestepped the clumsy, desperate attack with graceful, practiced ease.

He grabbed Silas by the expensive collar of his suit and slammed him violently face-first into the heavy oak dining table.

Wood splintered aggressively as Julian brutally pinned the traitor's bleeding face completely down against the ruined surface.

"Fifteen years of absolute loyalty, heavily destroyed for a spoiled girl and a fleeting illusion of power," Julian whispered into his ear.

"She specifically promised me I could finally be the king!" Silas sobbed heavily, spitting dark blood onto the floor.

"A true king never ruthlessly attacks innocent women and children in the dark," Julian replied simply.

With one swift, brutal motion, Julian ended the violent threat permanently, leaving the lifeless traitor bleeding on the ruined table.

The sprawling estate finally fell completely and terrifyingly silent, save for the crackling of small, dying fires.

Julian wiped the dark blood slowly from his knuckles with a perfectly white silk handkerchief.

He calmly walked back up the grand staircase to finally deal with the last remaining, treacherous loose end.

Victoria was still heavily locked inside the safe room, desperately banging on the thick steel door.
