Chapter 5 - The Master Trap

Julian pressed the red button on the small device without a single second of hesitation.

A series of muffled, powerful detonations rapidly shook the solid foundation of the massive Long Island estate.

Thick, black smoke quickly flooded the lower ventilation system, creating absolute, terrifying chaos for the invading attackers.

"Victor, escort Elena and Leo through the secret servant tunnels to the heavily armored boat at the private dock," Julian commanded.

"I am absolutely not leaving you here to die," Elena protested fiercely, grabbing his bloody hand.

Julian looked down at her, suddenly realizing how much this brave, fiercely loyal woman meant to his cold heart.

"I promise you, I will personally cook you breakfast tomorrow morning," Julian smiled perfectly, kissing her bruised knuckles.

Victor quickly ushered the mother and son behind a hidden wall panel, sealing the heavy stone seamlessly behind them.

Julian aggressively racked the slide of his firearm, stepping back out into the smoky, blood-stained hallway.

He could clearly hear Silas furiously barking harsh orders at the heavily armed mercenaries in the grand foyer.

"Sweep the upper floors and find him, I want his head right now!" Silas screamed like a madman.

Julian silently slipped into the dark shadows of the balcony overlooking the extravagant, destroyed living room.
