Chapter 3 - The Mutiny Begins

The heavy blast shattered the thick study windows, raining dangerous shards of glass over the expensive mahogany furniture.

Julian instinctively tackled Victoria to the floor, shielding himself from the deadly, flying debris.

Alarms began shrieking wildly throughout the sprawling compound, signaling a massive, coordinated security breach.

Julian aggressively hauled Victoria to her feet and shoved her ruthlessly toward the reinforced panic room behind his bookcase.

"Stay exactly in there if you want to live to see tomorrow," he growled, slamming the heavy steel door shut.

He drew his customized firearm and rushed into the smoky, chaotic hallway.

Roman was already sprinting toward him, a heavy tactical rifle tightly gripped in his massive hands.

"Boss, it is Silas," Roman shouted over the deafening alarm sirens.

"Half the security detail just violently turned on us, and they blew the gates to let an outside cartel crew inside."

Julian felt a cold, dark fury instantly settle deep into his bones.

The man he had bled for, the man he called a brother, had completely sold him out for absolute power.

"Where is Elena and the boy?" Julian demanded, reloading his weapon with practiced, deadly precision.

"Victor barricaded them safely inside the medical wing, but Silas’s men are fiercely pushing up the main staircase," Roman reported.

"Hold the top of the stairs, shoot absolutely anyone who isn't us," Julian ordered coldly.

Gunfire erupted from the grand foyer below, the loud cracks echoing terribly through the luxurious, ancient halls.
