Chapter 5 - The Confrontation

"Trespassing?!" Julian roared at the camera. "This is my house! You crazy bitch, open this door right now or I'm calling the police!"

"I already did," I replied calmly.

A sleek black SUV pulled into the driveway, followed closely by a local patrol car. Evelyn stepped out of the SUV, holding a thick manila folder, flanked by two private security guards.

Julian spun around, his face dropping as he recognized my attorney. "Evelyn? What the hell is going on here?"

"Mr. Vance," Evelyn said, her voice like ice. "I am here to serve you with divorce papers, a temporary restraining order, and an eviction notice. Your belongings are in the boxes in the driveway."

Beatrice let out a shrill gasp, clutching her pearls. "Divorce? Eviction? You can't do this! Julian provides everything for that ungrateful girl!"

"Actually, ma'am," Evelyn corrected, handing Julian the heavy stack of papers, "Clara owns this estate outright. Furthermore, we have handed over Mr. Vance's financial records to the SEC and the FBI. The funds he embezzled from Clara’s trust to fund his fraudulent tech company have been documented. The accounts are frozen. You have absolutely nothing."

Julian looked like he had been struck by lightning. He flipped frantically through the documents, seeing his forged signatures, the wire transfers, the undeniable proof of his crimes laid bare in black and white.

"Clara!" he screamed toward the house, his arrogant facade completely shattering. "Clara, please! We can talk about this!"

"You have five minutes to take your boxes and leave the property," the police officer intervened, resting his hand on his belt. "Before I arrest you for violating the restraining order."
