Chapter 7 - The Facebook War

Brenda’s fake heart attack didn't work, so she took her campaign to the public.

The next morning, my phone was blowing up with texts from extended family members—aunts, cousins, and old high school friends.

Brenda had posted a massive, dramatic status on Facebook.

“Please pray for my family. My daughter Sarah has been brainwashed by a controlling, wealthy man. He took her away from me the day my beautiful grandson was born. Now he has framed my youngest daughter, Chloe, and had her arrested on false charges! I am heartbroken. A mother's love is unconditional, but I fear Sarah is lost to the devil.”

The comments were flooding in. People calling me ungrateful, a gold-digger, a terrible daughter.

“Don't read it,” Marcus said, taking the phone gently from my hands. “Let me handle this.”

Marcus didn't argue in the comments. He didn't write an emotional paragraph.

He simply made a single post on my timeline, tagging Brenda and every single relative who had commented.

He posted the Ring camera video of Chloe cutting the cables. He posted a photo of the forged checks with Brenda's signature. And he posted a simple caption:

“This is Brenda’s ‘unconditional love.’ Sabotaging a car while her daughter was in active labor, and stealing $45,000 meant for her grandson. See you in court, Brenda.”

The silence on Facebook was deafening. Within ten minutes, Brenda’s original post was deleted. But the damage was done. The extended family finally saw the monsters hiding behind the curtains.
