Chapter 7 - The Final Gala

The grand ballroom of the Vance estate was a sea of expensive champagne, glittering diamonds, and powerful, ruthless elites.

Marcus Thorne stood near the massive ice sculpture, completely relaxed and sipping a drink while laughing at a joke.

He looked incredibly wealthy and entirely untouchable in his tailored Italian tuxedo.

Julian stood on the landing of the grand staircase, watching his former best friend with eyes as cold as a frozen lake.

The digital tracker on Julian’s phone was silently blinking red, indicating that Marcus had taken the bait perfectly.

Marcus’s secure laptop, hidden in his car outside, was actively trying to transfer the stolen funds to a new, untraceable account in Switzerland.

What Marcus did not know was that Julian’s cybersecurity team had already hijacked the routing numbers.

The money was not going to Switzerland; it was being securely rerouted directly back into Clara’s completely restored trust fund.

The heavy, classical music playing in the ballroom suddenly faded away, replaced by the sharp tapping of a spoon against a crystal glass.

Julian stepped up to the microphone positioned at the top of the sweeping marble staircase.

“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for coming to my home tonight,” Julian announced, his voice carrying perfectly across the silent room.

“We are gathered here to celebrate the removal of toxic elements from Vance Enterprises, and the dawn of a completely new era.”

Marcus raised his glass from the crowd, smiling proudly, completely oblivious to his impending absolute doom.

“But before we discuss the company's future, I have a deeply personal, miraculous announcement to make,” Julian continued.

He turned toward the dark hallway at the top of the stairs and held out his hand.

The heavy oak doors slowly swung open, and the entire ballroom collectively gasped in absolute, horrified shock.

Clara stepped into the bright light, wearing a breathtaking, sweeping crimson gown that made her look like a conquering queen.

Her hair was elegantly styled, completely hiding the bruises, and her posture was straight and undeniably powerful.

The silence in the room was completely deafening, broken only by the sound of a single glass shattering against the floor.

Marcus Thorne had dropped his expensive drink, his face draining of all color until he looked like a walking ghost.

Clara placed her hand securely on Julian’s arm, and together, they slowly descended the sweeping staircase.

They walked directly toward the crowd, stopping right in front of the trembling, terrified Chief Financial Officer.

The final reckoning had officially begun.
