Chapter 6 - The Architect of Ruin

The Vance estate was completely transformed over the next forty-eight hours into a glittering stage for Julian’s brilliant revenge.
Hundreds of caterers, florists, and decorators rushed around the grand ballroom, completely oblivious to the dark secrets the house held.
Julian spent the majority of his time with Clara in the safe, quiet sanctuary of their heavily guarded suite.
He explained the entire plan to her, holding nothing back, offering her the complete truth she had been denied for four years.
“I want Marcus to believe that the company is celebrating a massive new merger,” Julian explained, holding her hands.
“He will think he is completely safe, that Victoria hasn't talked, and that his dirty secrets are buried forever.”
Clara listened intently, her eyes hardened with a fierce, burning determination that deeply impressed her husband.
“I want to be there, Julian,” Clara said, her voice completely devoid of any hesitation.
Julian frowned, a heavy wave of protective anxiety instantly washing over him.
“Clara, you are still recovering, and seeing him might trigger terrible memories of what you went through,” he argued gently.
Clara squeezed his hands tightly, refusing to look away from his worried gaze.
“Marcus sat at my dining table, ate my food, and smiled at me while he plotted to ruin my entire existence,” Clara stated coldly.
“I spent four years hiding like a frightened animal in the dark, and I am absolutely done hiding from these monsters.”
She stood up from the sofa and walked over to the massive mirror, looking at her healing reflection.
“I am going to walk down those grand stairs on your arm, and I am going to watch his entire world completely collapse.”
Julian stared at his brave, magnificent wife, completely overwhelmed by his profound love for her.
He immediately hired the best private stylist in the city, instructing them to bring the most beautiful, powerful gowns available.
Meanwhile, Julian subtly leaked a completely fake internal memo to Marcus’s private email server.
The memo indicated that the missing two hundred million dollars had finally been traced to an unsecured offshore account.
It was a brilliantly crafted piece of bait, designed exclusively to make Marcus panic and attempt to move the money during the chaos of the gala.

Marcus would think he was outsmarting everyone, right up until the steel trap completely snapped shut on his neck.
Julian stood by the window, watching the luxury cars begin to arrive at the estate, ready to start the final act of this nightmare.
