Chapter 10 - The Real Family

One year later, the grand terrace of Arthur’s newly renovated estate was beautifully decorated with twinkling fairy lights and vibrant summer flowers.
There were no arrogant cousins, no cruel grandparents, and absolutely no forced servitude.
Instead, the terrace was filled with Arthur’s loyal friends, his trusted employees, and the loving community they had built together.
It was Lily’s twelfth birthday party, and the atmosphere was filled with nothing but pure, unadulterated joy.
Arthur stood by the massive outdoor grill, flipping burgers and laughing with his head financial advisor, Elena.
Leo and Finn were running across the manicured lawn, chasing a golden retriever puppy that Arthur had adopted a few months ago.
Lily walked up to her father, wearing a beautiful summer dress and a huge, genuine smile that reached her bright eyes.
"Having fun, birthday girl?" Arthur asked, handing her a plate of fresh fruit.
"It's the best party ever, Dad," Lily beamed, hugging him tightly around the waist.
Across town, Richard and Margaret were sitting in a cramped, incredibly hot apartment, eating cheap canned soup in absolute silence.
They had seen pictures of Lily’s incredible birthday party online, posted by one of Arthur’s friends.
They realized, far too late, that the family they had thrown away was the only thing of actual value they had ever possessed.
But Arthur didn't spare a single thought for them as he looked out over his beautiful, thriving children.
He had successfully protected his kids, honored his late wife's memory, and completely rebuilt his life on his own terms.

He raised his glass of sparkling cider, offering a silent, loving toast to the beautiful future they were creating together.
The nightmares of the past were entirely gone, and the beautiful, hard-won reality of their happiness was finally here to stay.
