Chapter 9 - The Trial of the Valley

The federal trial of the Blackwood family was a media spectacle that gripped the entire nation.
Because the corruption ran so deep in the local courts, the trial was moved to a federal courthouse in Alexandria, Virginia.
David’s team provided a mountain of evidence that buried the defense. The ledgers proved the racketeering. The wire transfers proved the bribery. But it was the trial of Caleb, Wyatt, and Elena that drew the most attention.
Chloe, brave and resolute, took the stand. She testified against her own family, authenticating the video of the assault.
When the video was played for the jury, showing the brutal beating of the eight-year-old girl while her mother watched, a collective gasp echoed through the courtroom. Several jurors openly wept.
The verdicts were swift and merciless.
