Chapter 4 - The Web Unravels

The next morning, Alessandro moved Rosa and Lily to his heavily fortified compound in upstate New York.
He trusted no one in his inner circle except his most loyal enforcer, a silent giant named Dante.
Dante was tasked with guarding the mother and daughter with his life while Alessandro returned to the city.
Alessandro immediately summoned his top financial hacker, demanding a deep dive into Luca’s private accounts.
Within hours, the digital trail of blood and dirty money was laid bare on the computer screens.
Luca had been siphoning millions from the Moretti shipping business into hidden offshore shell companies.
More importantly, the hacker found a massive transfer from Vivian’s father to Luca, dated three days before the engagement party.
"He sold me out for a payday and a promise of a throne," Alessandro muttered, staring at the damning evidence.
He also found the missing link to Rosa's husband in the encrypted shipping logs.
Miguel Delgado had discovered a discrepancy in the cargo manifests, realizing Luca was smuggling illegal weapons.
Miguel had tried to report it to Alessandro, but Luca had intercepted him first.
Alessandro slammed his fist onto the desk, fracturing the thick glass surface in a fit of pure, unadulterated rage.
His oldest friend had murdered an innocent father just to cover up a petty theft.
Alessandro picked up his phone and dialed Vivian’s number, his voice dripping with fake affection.
"My love, we need to finalize the wedding venue tomorrow," he lied smoothly into the receiver.

"I will see you then, darling," Vivian replied, her voice sweet and entirely deceptive.
The trap was now officially set.
